Mental health services are treating more and more young people suffering from psychological and emotional problems. Pressures from family, school, exams and peers, combined with the social need for achievement and success at all costs, create a hazardous environment to a teenager's well-being.
At Cygnet Hospital Godden Green we offer a specialised treatment programme for young people between the ages of 12-18 years with acute mental health problems. With experienced staff and a purpose built unit, the options of both inpatient and outpatient treatment are all available.
We are able to treat a variety of mental health problems for young people including stress related illnesses and emotional disorders such as depression, anxiety, addictive behaviour, eating disorders, anger management and family issues - see below for a full list of conditions we can treat.
We recommend an initial consultation with one of our specialist consultants to discuss the main issues and decide together how to proceed. In most cases you will be referred to us by your GP however if you do not have a referral letter we are still able to help.
Our aim is to teach young people how to manage their emotional health and well being more effectively.
